What made Aiglon so special for you ?

Iain is right about the students making Aiglon such an extraordinary school. I count several Aiglonians to be among my closest friends. We are all in different parts of the world and in different professions and yet we have this extraordinary bond which was formed in Villars. I also think there were some incredibly talented teachers who challenged us both in and out of the classroom. Derek Berry's economics "A" level course taught from DB's marxist perspective was a great learning experience for me. I suppose the teachers were all handpicked by JC ?

Yes, as I think I said in a separate email: "For me, it was not really the school that was memorable so much as the interesting friends that I made - of varying nationalities and backgrounds."

As for the school itself, well, amongst the special things about it were these two philosophies implanted by JC:

1. Meditation: The principles for the school included the encouragement to practice daily meditation - a piece of eastern mysticism which is an important tool for the discovery of the Self.

2. Monotheism: The motto "God is my strength" was there at the same time, to help you to find your way.
